Adverum Biotechnologies Inc. promoted Leone Patterson to the position of president and CEO.

Patterson was also named to the company's board.

According to an Oct. 17 news release, Patterson joined the company in June 2016 as CFO and had been serving as interim president and CEO since May. She will continue to serve as CFO until a replacement is appointed.

Adverum, a clinical-stage gene therapy company, focuses on unmet medical needs in serious rare and ocular diseases.
