Colder weather, anniversary sale push Uniqlo net sales up in November

Fast Retailing Co. Ltd. on Dec. 4 reported that same-store net sales of its Uniqlo brand jumped 8.9% year over year in November due to the brand's anniversary sale and increased sales of winter items, brought about by "the colder weather from mid-month."

The Japanese apparel brand's same-store customer numbers went up 4.6% year over year, while the average purchase per customer also increased 4.2% in the same period.

Net sales of Uniqlo's directly run stores jumped 8.1% year over year in November. Customer numbers in these stores rose 4%, while the average purchase per customer rate also increased 4%.

Including online sales, net sales grew 8.8%. Customer numbers rose 4.4%, and the average purchase per customer grew 4.2%.

Uniqlo also opened one directly run store in Japan in November, bringing the total number of stores to 792 at month-end.
