Argentine consumer defense group files case against Santander Río

Banco Santander Río SA said it is facing a class-action lawsuit filed by Argentine consumer defense association ADUC, for an indeterminate amount, according to a May 9 release.

The ADUC alleges that Santander Río attached illegitimate insurance contracts to certain financial services in 2015 and 2016.The bank said it is analyzing the content and implications of the lawsuit.

The ADUC recently filed a lawsuit against the bank for alleged differences in acquiring foreign currencies and sought the cancellation of purchases made with cards abroad.
