U.K.-based Standard Chartered PLC named Kariuki Ngari CEO of unit Standard Chartered Bank Kenya Ltd.

Ngari succeeds Lamin Manjang, who in turn replaces Bola Adesola as CEO for Nigeria and West Africa. Ngari recently served as group head of service quality in group retail banking.

Adesola, meanwhile, was appointed as the British lender's senior vice chairman for Africa.

StanChart said the appointment of cluster CEO for East Africa will be announced in due course.
