TMB Bank clarifies loan amount related to fraud case

TMB Bank PCL clarified that a reported case of fraudulent documents only amounted to 800 million Thai baht, instead of the reported 3.40 billion baht.

The bank was responding to news reports circulated in social media about a fraud case relating to documents in a loan agreement amounting to 3.40 billion baht.

The bank said March 15 the loan amount was only 800 million baht and that the bank had set full loan-loss provisions in 2014. The case will not impact the bank's operating performance in the current year.

As of March 15, US$1 was equivalent to 31.18 Thai baht.
