Vmware grosses $1.25 billion from debt offering

VMware Inc. raised gross proceeds of $1.25 billion from an offering of 2.3% senior unsecured notes due Aug. 21, 2020.

The company plans to use the proceeds for general corporate purposes or working capital, redemption or repayment of debt securities, acquisitions or investments, and repurchase of securities.

Barclays Capital Inc., Citigroup Global Markets Inc., Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC, Deutsche Bank Securities Inc., Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC, J.P. Morgan Securities LLC, Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner & Smith Inc., Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC, RBC Capital Markets LLC, UBS Securities LLC and Wells Fargo Securities LLC were the lead underwriters.
