Coca-Cola Co.'s Indian unit will soon be offering fruit beverages that are specific to certain states in a bid to make its products "more relevant to India", The Times of India reported Feb. 25, citing Coca-Cola India and Southwest Asia President T. Krishnakumar.
Coca-Cola India Pvt. Ltd., which already sells mango-flavored Maaza, will release new products featuring other mango variants from other states, including the Kesar variant in Gujarat and Neelam in Tamil Nadu. The company also plans to expand its orange juice business across the country, according to the report.
In addition, the Indian arm of the U.S. soft drinks company is testing a frozen fruit product, which reportedly would be similar to an ice cream. The company plans to launch the new product in the country's top six cities, the report said.
