Sprint to offer 5G device from China's OnePlus

Sprint Corp. is adding a device from Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus Technology (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd. to its lineup of 5G devices.

Sprint said it will soon provide additional information, including device specifications, pricing and launch date, according to an Aug. 6 news release. Sprint launched its first 5G-compatible devices on May 31.

The U.S. carrier launched mobile 5G service in the Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston and Kansas City areas earlier this year. Sprint said it expects to launch the service in areas of Los Angeles, New York, Phoenix and Washington, D.C., over the coming weeks.

Earlier this year, T-Mobile US Inc. became the exclusive partner of OnePlus for its OnePlus 7 Pro smartphone in the U.S.
