SPL Industries fiscal Q3 profit falls YOY

SPL Industries Ltd said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, came to 21 Indian paise per share, a decrease of 19.5% from 27 paise per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 6.2 million rupees, a decrease of 20.0% from 7.8 million rupees in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin fell to 4.3% from 8.6% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 59.2% on an annual basis to 143.7 million rupees from 90.3 million rupees, and total operating expenses rose 74.9% on an annual basis to 136.0 million rupees from 77.8 million rupees.

Reported net income fell 19.5% year over year to 9.9 million rupees, or 34 paise per share, from 12.2 million rupees, or 42 paise per share.

As of Feb. 13, US$1 was equivalent to 62.03 Indian rupees.
