Tokyo Individualized Educational fiscal Q2 profit climbs 24.7% YOY

Tokyo Individualized Educational Institute Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Aug. 31 came to ¥10.74 per share, a gain of 24.7% from ¥8.61 per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥583.1 million, a gain of 24.7% from ¥467.5 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 13.0% from 11.5% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 10.7% year over year to ¥4.48 billion from ¥4.05 billion, and total operating expenses grew 7.5% on an annual basis to ¥3.55 billion from ¥3.30 billion.

Reported net income grew 25.5% from the prior-year period to ¥576.0 million, or ¥10.61 per share, from ¥459.0 million, or ¥8.45 per share.

As of Oct. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥107.05.
