Emperor Entertainment Hotel profit misses consensus by 47.6% in fiscal H1

Emperor Entertainment Hotel Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first half ended Sept. 30 was 11 Hong Kong cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 22 cents per share.

EPS declined year over year from 11 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was HK$146.7 million, compared with HK$147.8 million in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue declined year over year to HK$1.05 billion from HK$1.10 billion, and total operating expenses climbed year over year to HK$673.8 million from HK$659.4 million.

Reported net income declined 5.2% from the prior-year period to HK$263.7 million, or 20 cents per share, from HK$278.3 million, or 22 cents per share.
