SWK Holdings seeks Nasdaq uplisting

SWK Holdings Corp. formally applied to list its common shares on the Nasdaq Capital Market.

In a news release, SWK Holdings CEO Winston Black III said the company expects the move to Nasdaq to raise the company's visibility and enhance trading liquidity by broadening its appeal to a larger shareholder base.

In conjunction with its planned transition to Nasdaq, the life science-focused specialty finance company appointed Black and Aaron Fletcher to its board.

The appointments bring the number of directors to six, of which three satisfy the independence requirements for service on the company's audit committee, including Fletcher.

Fletcher is president of Bios Research, a financial services firm that he founded to provide public equity research in the healthcare industry tailored to institutional firms and large family offices. He is also a managing partner at venture capital firm Bios Partners LP, which focuses on investment in early-stage and growth-stage biotech and medical device companies.
