Volkswagen AG-owned Porsche AG's North America unit issued a recall of 33,206 Panamera hatchbacks over a short-circuit risk which can cause fire, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said May 22.
The recall affects several Porsche Panamera hatchbacks models 2010-2016. Water may enter the air conditioner blower control unit, which could cause an electrical short circuit and cause fire. The company has asked dealers to add a relay harness to the air conditioner blower control unit and reseal it to prevent water from entering it.
Porsche advised the owners to park their vehicle outdoors until the remedy has been performed, NHTSA added.
The recall is expected to begin June 23.
