C M Holdings fiscal Q3 profit climbs YOY

C M Holdings PLC said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014, amounted to 5.93 Sri Lankan rupees per share, a gain from 1.28 rupees per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 90.2 million rupees, a gain from 19.5 million rupees in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 7.2% from 5.2% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 74.2% year over year to 654.5 million rupees from 375.7 million rupees, and total operating expenses grew 53.6% from the prior-year period to 496.5 million rupees from 323.2 million rupees.

Reported net income increased from the prior-year period to 114.0 million rupees, or 7.50 rupees per share, from 30.9 million rupees, or 2.03 rupees per share.

As of Feb. 11, US$1 was equivalent to 132.80 Sri Lankan rupees.
