Mexican bourse BIVA to start operations in July

Mexico-based stock exchange Bolsa Institucional de Valores, or BIVA, will start operations on July 25, El Financiero reported, citing sources related to the bourse.

In August 2017, the country's finance ministry granted BIVA a title of concession, which allows it to organize and operate in the country.

BIVA seeks to attract new entrants in the stock market as well as a chunk of the companies whose shares are currently listed in Mexico's existing Bolsa Mexicana de Valores stock exchange.

The new bourse aims to boost Mexico's stock market through the help of financial technology companies and by listing disruptive companies in all sectors, General Director María Ariza has said.
