Ahjikan fiscal Q1 loss widens 6.7% YOY

Ahjikan Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 came to a loss of ¥7.88 per share, compared with a loss of ¥7.39 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of ¥60.0 million, compared with a loss of ¥56.3 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin declined to negative 0.7% from negative 0.7% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed year over year to ¥8.52 billion from ¥8.32 billion, and total operating expenses climbed year over year to ¥8.67 billion from ¥8.43 billion.

Reported net income totaled a loss of ¥126.0 million, or a loss of ¥16.55 per share, compared to a loss of ¥63.0 million, or a loss of ¥8.28 per share, in the prior-year period.

As of Aug. 11, US$1 was equivalent to ¥102.12.
