Almendral SA said its first-quarter normalized net income was a loss of 20 Chilean centavos per share, compared with 44 centavos per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was a loss of 2.68 billion pesos, compared with income of 6.00 billion pesos in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin declined to negative 0.6% from 1.4% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed 6.6% on an annual basis to 459.46 billion pesos from 431.12 billion pesos, and total operating expenses rose 7.5% from the prior-year period to 424.50 billion pesos from 394.83 billion pesos.
Reported net income grew 55.9% year over year to 12.81 billion pesos, or 95 centavos per share, from 8.22 billion pesos, or 61 centavos per share.
As of May 9, US$1 was equivalent to 669.35 Chilean pesos.
