O'Reilly Automotive Inc. said its normalized net income for the second quarter came to $2.98 per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of $2.90 per share.
EPS rose 13.7% year over year from $2.62.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $272.3 million, a gain of 6.7% from $255.2 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 11.9% from 11.7% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue grew 5.2% on an annual basis to $2.29 billion from $2.18 billion, and total operating expenses grew on an annual basis to $1.83 billion from $1.75 billion.
Reported net income rose 9.8% year over year to $283.0 million, or $3.10 per share, from $257.8 million, or $2.65 per share.
