JD.com Inc. said May 15 that it has invested US$306 million in ESR Cayman Ltd., a pan-Asian logistics real estate developer, owner and operator.
The Chinese e-commerce giant said it invested in the real estate platform company via one of its units.
The companies will explore cooperation in multiple areas, including property development, fund management and investment across Asia, JD said. The Chinese company said the alliance between the two companies will allow it to offer logistics services for customers and businesses in China and other areas.
JD recently formed partnerships with several international apparel and accessory brands to expand its fashion offerings.
