AT&T Inc. may increase DIRECTV NOW's price in a bid to make it more profitable, AT&T Chairman, President and CEO Randall Stephenson said at a conference in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.
Stephenson said DIRECTV NOW, which currently costs $35 a month, could become cash-positive within a couple of years, the Los Angeles Times reported May 30.
Regarding the company's deal to buy Time Warner Inc., Stephenson said the deal would allow the company to solidify its place in the digital entertainment sector because of the amount of content Time Warner has.
"I'm a big believer in premium content," Stephenson said. "And advertisers love the premium content platforms. I actually think there is a major opportunity here."
