Nuclear update: US output recovers as Sequoyah 1 ramps up

Total U.S. nuclear plant availability nudged higher early Feb. 7 to 96.06%, up from 95.79% on Feb. 6 and still higher than the 91.98% reported on the same day a year ago.

Giving a small lift to total production was increased output at Tennessee Valley Authority's Sequoyah 1 in Tennessee. The unit was pegged at 52% early Feb. 7, up from 25% on Feb. 6.

As of early Feb. 7, Southern Co.'s Hatch 1 in Georgia and Entergy Corp.'s River Bend 1 in Louisiana remained shut.
