Fresnillo appoints deputy chairman

The Fresnillo Plc board approved the appointment of Alejandro Baillères as the company's deputy chairman, effective immediately.

The company also said Feb. 22 that Guy Wilson will step down as an independent nonexecutive director during the annual general meeting scheduled for May 30, with Georgina Kessel proposed as a replacement. Kessel previously served as Secretary of State in Mexico's Ministry of Energy.

Fresnillo expects to produce up to 70 million ounces of silver in 2018, after producing 58.7 million ounces in 2017.
