OMRON Corp. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 came to ¥57.76 per share, an increase of 65.7% from ¥34.85 per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥12.32 billion, a gain of 65.4% from ¥7.45 billion in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 5.9% from 4.0% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue increased 10.7% year over year to ¥207.12 billion from ¥187.04 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 9.0% year over year to ¥186.37 billion from ¥170.95 billion.
Reported net income increased 86.6% on an annual basis to ¥14.79 billion, or ¥69.31 per share, from ¥7.92 billion, or ¥37.05 per share.
As of Nov. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥113.32.
