Chile's national consumer service agency, Sernac, has asked to Itaú CorpBanca to initiate collective mediation with clients who claim to have been defrauded through unauthorized transactions, Pulso reported.
So far in 2018, Sernac reportedly has received 138 complaints from consumers who claim they have been victims to various types of fraudulent transactions involving both deposit and credit card accounts.
Itaú reportedly said its security systems had not been breached when the consumer agency first contacted the bank regarding the issue in March 2018.
