'Today' co-host sets up Live Streaming Network for talent, brands

Al Roker, one of the co-hosts on 's "Today" show,launched Roker Media, a Live Streaming Network for talent and brands.

Roker Media will develop and produce live streaming showsand commerce opportunities with talent and brands in the lifestyle, food,music, sports and entertainment categories, according to an April 7 newsrelease. Roker Media teamed up with JRSportBrief founders JR Jackson andCharlie Stettler, TV entertainment icon Fred Seibert and music impresario LyorCohen, to create the first Live Streaming Network.

Additionally, the company will continue to expand itscreative and data-centric approach to programming in conjunction with selectedtalent and creators on all of the live stream platforms.

Roker will serve as chairman of Roker Media and Seibert willserve as a special adviser and be active in both programming and talentdevelopment.

Current investors of Roker Media include Seibert, CEO/founderof Frederator Networks, and former MTV (US), Nickelodeon (US) executive; Cohen, CEO of 300Entertainment and former CEO of Warner Music Group Corp. and president and CEO of IslandDef Jam; and Jamie Robinson, a seasoned angel investor and marketing executive.
