Bonia fiscal Q3 profit climbs 11.8% YOY

Bonia Corp. Bhd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended March 31 amounted to 2 Malaysian sen per share, an increase of 11.9% from 1 sen per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 12.5 million ringgits, an increase of 11.8% from 11.2 million ringgits in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to 6.4% from 6.5% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue climbed 14.0% on an annual basis to 195.0 million ringgits from 171.0 million ringgits, and total operating expenses grew 14.8% from the prior-year period to 169.8 million ringgits from 147.9 million ringgits.

Reported net income increased 8.8% year over year to 14.1 million ringgits, or 2 sen per share, from 13.0 million ringgits, or 2 sen per share.

As of May 26, US$1 was equivalent to 3.64 ringgits.
