Target, Shipt roll out same-day delivery in New England

Target Corp. and grocery delivery service Shipt said March 27 that they will launch their same-day delivery service in select Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island areas on April 10.

Shift will also deliver from Target stores to areas in Boston, including the north and south shore, beginning April 12.

Target said it plans to expand the delivery service to majority of its stores by the 2018 holiday season. The company also plans to start offering same-day delivery for all major product categories by the end of 2019.

The retailer said in February that it will offer same-day delivery service to Louisiana from March 13. Target is also providing the same-day delivery in Philadelphia, Alabama and South Florida.

Shipt was acquired by Target in December 2017 for $550 million.
