Texas natural gas and oil production both declined in July, the state Railroad Commission reported Sept. 25.
Texas wells produced 613 Bcf of gas in July, or 19.8 Bcf/d, on a preliminary basis. That trailed June's preliminary average of 20.5 Bcf/d. July 2017's preliminary reading was 17.3 Bcf/d.
The commission reported preliminary oil production of 90.0 million barrels for July, or 2.90 million barrels per day, down from 2.96 MMbbl/d in June. July 2017 saw 2.43 MMbbl/d on a preliminary basis.
Webb County was Texas' largest gas producer in July, with a preliminary reading of 55.7 Bcf. Reeves County produced the second-largest amount, reporting 37.4 Bcf.
Midland County topped Texas' list of oil producers in July, with a preliminary total of 9.7 MMbbl. Karnes County produced the second-largest amount, with 6.9 MMbbl.
