UniCredit to off-load Hungarian nonperforming retail mortgage portfolio

UniCredit SpA said units UniCredit Bank Hungary Zrt. and UniCredit Jelzálogbank Zrt. agreed to sell, on a nonrecourse basis, a portfolio composed of retail mortgage receivables to EOS Faktor Zrt., a locally licensed Hungarian financial enterprise.

The portfolio consists entirely of Hungarian loans. The portfolio's total claim value, gross of write-offs, is approximately €44.3 million.

UniCredit said the transaction's impact will be reflected in its fourth-quarter results, adding that the deal forms part of its efforts to reduce its nonperforming exposures.
