Report: Sony considering sale of Playstation Vue service

Sony Corp. is considering a sale of its streaming service Playstation Vue, The Information reported Oct. 24, citing people familiar with the situation.

A sale of the service would include the company's technology and a subscriber list of about 500,000 households, sources said, adding that Sony selected Bank of America Merrill Lynch several months ago to explore the sale.

Selling Playstation Vue could help the Japanese conglomerate appease activist investor Daniel Loeb, who earlier this year called on Sony to restructure in an effort to lift its stock price.
