NorthWestern Corp. d/b/a NorthWestern Energy filed an automatic shelf registration statement for the potential sale of an unspecified amount of certain securities from time to time.

The Feb. 13 filing covers the sale of NorthWestern Energy's first mortgage bonds, preferred stock and depositary shares representing preferred stock and common stock.

The company intends to add net proceeds from any sale of securities to fund its capital requirements, debt obligations and for general corporate purposes.
