Hyatt Hotels Corp. and Permodalan Nasional Bhd. are partnering to launch the Park Hyatt brand in Kuala Lumpur, with the development of a hotel on the top 17 floors of the 118-floor Merdeka PNB tower.
An affiliate of the hospitality company Hyatt and Permodalan's PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn. Berthed signed the management agreement for the hotel in the skyscraper, which is set to become the tallest in Southeast Asia and third tallest in the world.
Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, slated to open in 2021 after the tower's expected completion in 2020, will feature 232 guestrooms, including 28 suites and 30 residential apartments. Amenities at the hotel will cover more than 20,000 square feet of flexible meeting spaces, a skyline-level restaurant and others.
The entire tower, additionally offering office space, spans in excess of 3 million square feet and forms a part of the Merdeka 118 Precinct project, according to a release.
