Consolidated Communications short interest increases in 1st half of December

Consolidated Communications Holdings Inc. posted the largest increase in short interest relative to shares outstanding among Kagan-covered communications companies between Nov. 30 and Dec. 15.

The company saw short interest increase 169 basis points to 11.55% of shares outstanding at the end of the period.

Iridium Communications Inc. saw the biggest decrease in short interest relative to shares outstanding among Kagan-covered communications companies. The percentage of the company's shares held short relative to shares outstanding declined 117 basis points to 24.03% as of Dec. 15.

Frontier Communications Corp. topped the list of most shorted communications companies in the first half of December. The company saw short interest drop 50 basis points to 41.77% of shares outstanding.
