Toyota repurchases ¥89.76B shares in July

Toyota Motor Corp. said Aug. 5 that it bought back ¥89.76 billion worth of common shares in July as part of its share buyback program announced in May.

The Japanese carmaker repurchased a total of 12,816,600 of its common stock from July 1-31.

Toyota has so far bought back 20,916,400 shares worth ¥144.04 billion under its plan to buy back up to 50 million shares for a maximum purchase price of ¥300 billion from May 15 to Sept. 30.

As of Aug. 6, US$1 was equivalent to ¥106.13.
