Azimut Exploration Inc. said Sept. 11 that a new exploration program was launched at the Eleonore South joint venture property in Quebec.
The C$2.5 million program will consist of 2,000 meters of trenching and 7,000 meters of diamond drilling, with focus on the Cheechoo tonalite intrusion and the high-grade Moni prospect.
Azimut has a 26.6% stake in Eleonore South, while Goldcorp Inc. and Eastmain Resources Inc. each own a 36.7% interest.
The property, where Azimut discovered a high-grade gold-bearing vein system, is adjacent to the Eleonore gold mine owned and operated by Goldcorp.
