Sturm Ruger & Co. Inc. said its fourth-quarter normalized net income came to 84 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 75 cents per share.
EPS rose 63.7% year over year from 52 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $16.4 million, a gain of 65.0% from $9.9 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 10.8% from 8.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue rose 24.3% year over year to $152.4 million from $122.6 million, and total operating expenses grew 18.7% on an annual basis to $126.5 million from $106.5 million.
Reported net income totaled $17.1 million, or 88 cents per share, compared to a loss of $14.8 million, or a loss of 77 cents per share, in the year-earlier period.
For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled $3.10 per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate of $3.08.
EPS was $3.09 in the prior year.
Normalized net income was $59.9 million, a decrease from $61.2 million in the prior year.
Full-year total revenue rose from the prior-year period to $551.1 million from $544.5 million, and total operating expenses increased year over year to $456.7 million from $447.4 million.
The company said reported net income increased 60.7% on an annual basis to $62.2 million, or $3.21 per share, in the full year, from $38.7 million, or $1.95 per share.
