P-68 platform heads to Petrobras-operated Berbigão, Sururu fields in Brazil

The P-68 floating, production, storage and offloading, or FPSO, vessel has left the Jurong Aracruz Shipyard and is on its way to the Berbigão and Sururu oilfields in Brazil's Santos basin.

According to a Sept. 16 securities filing from state-owned oil company Petróleo Brasileiro SA, or Petrobras, the vessel is the fourth to start up this year following the P-67, P-76 and P-77 platforms. The FPSO has an oil processing capacity of 150,000 barrels per day, a gas processing capacity of 6 million cubic meters per day as well as a storage capacity of 1.6 million barrels of oil.

The Berbigão and Sururu fields are located in the BM-S-11A concession and are operated by Petrobras with a 42.5% stake. Other partners include Royal Dutch Shell PLC subsidiary Shell Brasil Petróleo Ltda., French oil major Total SA and Galp Energia SGPS S.A. unit Petrogal Brasil SA with interests of 25%, 22.5% and 10%, respectively.

Production in the fields is expected to begin in the fourth quarter, the filing said.
