STR: US hotels log positive results for week ended July 29

U.S. hotels posted positive performance for the week ended July 29, according to STR data.

Year over year, revenue per available room increased 1.5% to $102.39, and average daily rate moved higher by 1.2% to finish the week at $132.21. Occupancy rose 0.3% to 77.4%.

St. Louis, Mo.-Ill., posted the largest RevPAR increase of the top 25 U.S. markets at 28.5% to $95.53 and saw the largest increase in ADR, rising 14.7% to $115.63.

The market also posted the largest increase in occupancy, with the metric rising 12.0%, to 82.6%.

Philadelphia, Pa.-N.J., saw RevPAR fall 53.4% to $94.17, the largest decrease. The market also recorded the biggest ADR decrease, dropping 47.1% to $124.06, and reported the largest decline in occupancy, dropping 12.0%, to 75.9%.
