Wal-Mart de México SAB de CV's consolidated sales in June jumped 13.1% year over year to 49.08 billion Mexican pesos, according to a July 5 release.
The Mexican arm of U.S. retail giant Walmart Inc. said total sales in Mexico grew 11.5% year over year to 39.48 billion pesos, while total sales in Central America also increased 20.1% year over year to 9.6 billion pesos for the month of June.
Comparable store sales for the retail month also grew 10% compared to the same month a year ago.
The retailer opened eight new sites in Mexico in June and another location in Nicaragua.
As of July 5, US$1 was equivalent to 19.24 Mexican pesos.
