Sapura Industrial fiscal Q1 profit falls YOY

4909988 said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended April 30 was 1 Malaysian sen per share, a decrease of 9.5% from 2 sen per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 1.0 million ringgits, a decrease of 9.6% from 1.1 million ringgits in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin dropped to 1.7% from 1.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew on an annual basis to 58.9 million ringgits from 57.9 million ringgits, and total operating expenses rose on an annual basis to 58.2 million ringgits from 56.4 million ringgits.

Reported net income declined on an annual basis to 1.2 million ringgits, or 2 sen per share, from 1.2 million ringgits, or 2 sen per share.
