Equity Bank changes name to American Equity Bank

Equity Bank changed its name to American Equity Bank in October, according to CEO Todd Ellestad.

"The name change was needed to brand with the other companies we own and to give the bank 'a fresh look' with all kinds of new technology being added to help improve banking and lending experiences," Ellestad said in an email.

Ellestad, a private investor, bought parent company Equity Bank Holding Co. Inc. for an undisclosed amount in July.
