Banks, Dutch province close financing of 382.7-MW wind farm

A consortium of banks and the Dutch province of Fryslân closed an €800 million financing of a 382.7-MW wind farm under development in the northern Netherlands.

The consortium of banks, comprising ABN Amro, BNG, BNP Paribas, DZ Bank, Helaba, ING, KBC, KfW IPEX, NWB and Rabobank, are financing €700 million, and the province is financing €100 million, according to an Oct. 2 news release.

The total construction cost of the wind farm is estimated at €850 million. The facility will host 89 Siemens Gamesa turbines and is to be fully operational in 2021.
