* Franklin Resources is scheduled to report quarterly results before markets open today.

* Ryan Specialty Group Underwriting Managers agreed to acquire all of Interstate Insurance Management's assets and operations, Business Insurance reports.

* In Illinois, Midland States Bancorp is buying Centrue Financial in a cash-and-stock deal valued at approximately $175.1 million.

* Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Independent Bank Corp. is looking to expand its footprint into Ohio, with CFO Robert Shuster saying the company was "getting good traction" with staffing a potential office in the Akron, Ohio, suburb of Fairlawn.

* Meanwhile, Customers Bancorp hopes to divest its BankMobile division within 60 days and is in "final negotiations with a partner," Chairman and CEO Jay Sidhu said.

* Amid fears that the Trump administration will dismantle the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, six consumer advocacy groups and two lawmakers — Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, and Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif. — moved to defend the agency and its leadership, Reuters reports. The lawmakers and advocacy groups petitioned for permission to intervene on behalf of the CFPB in its appeal of an October 2016 decision that found the consumer financial watchdog's structure to be unconstitutional.

* The National Association of Insurance Commissioners warned Congress that potential action taken to change the health insurance market could do "irreparable harm" and lead to a rapid collapse of that market.

* U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission General Counsel Jonathan Marcus is leaving the agency.

* Charles Schwab CFO Joseph Martinetto is transitioning to a different position within the company, with Peter Crawford to succeed him as CFO.

* And online property broker Redfin has launched a mortgage business, a move integrating a lending operation with the company's brokerage and title businesses.
