Nucor to build new US$250M rebar micro mill in Missouri

Steelmaker Nucor Corp. said Nov. 21 that it will build a rebar micro mill in Sedalia, Mo., which represents at least US$250 million in new investments.

The mill is expected to start up in 2019, following final approval and the award of state and local incentives as well as required permits and regulatory approvals. It will create 255 full-time jobs.

Constructing the micro mill in Sedalia will also allow Nucor to take advantage of the scrap supply in the immediate area provided by its scrap business, the company noted.
