T-Mobile unveils mPOS service for mobile payments

T-Mobile US Inc. has expanded into mobile payments with a new mobile point of sale service, called GoPoint.

GoPoint by T-Mobile for Business offers free same-day funding and does not require software licensing fees, according to a March 26 news release. T-Mobile teamed up with global payments provider TSYS to power the GoPoint mPOS software.

With GoPoint, businesses will require a compatible smartphone or tablet with T-Mobile ONE service and a GoPoint card reader to accept card payments. Businesses pay 2.75% for debit and credit card transaction processing and are eligible for free funding on the same day.

The U.S. carrier also unveiled T-Mobile for Business Marketplace, a suite of mobile device management and productivity services for small and mid-sized businesses. T-Mobile for Business Marketplace is included with the T-Mobile for Business service.

Marketplace Advisors will help business customers choose from options like Microsoft Corp.'s Office 365, DocuSign Business Pro, IBM Corp.'s MaaS360 and VMware Inc.'s AirWatch Express.
