Sapura Industrial Bhd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended July 31 came to 4 Malaysian sen per share, a decline from 4 sen per share in the year-earlier period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 3.1 million ringgits, a decrease from 3.2 million ringgits in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin increased to 4.8% from 4.7% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue decreased year over year to 65.4 million ringgits from 68.4 million ringgits, and total operating expenses decreased on an annual basis to 60.9 million ringgits from 63.5 million ringgits.
Reported net income decreased 5.5% on an annual basis to 3.8 million ringgits, or 5 sen per share, from 4.0 million ringgits, or 6 sen per share.
As of Sept. 24, US$1 was equivalent to 3.24 ringgits.
