Dhampure Speciality Sugars Ltd said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30, 2015, amounted to 883,750 rupees, a gain of 67.9% from 526,250 rupees in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis.
The normalized profit margin climbed to 1.2% from 0.6% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue fell 14.4% year over year to 73.3 million rupees from 85.7 million rupees, and total operating expenses decreased 14.5% on an annual basis to 72.4 million rupees from 84.6 million rupees.
Reported net income came to 989,000 rupees, compared with 579,000 rupees, or 8 paise per share, in the prior-year period.
As of Jan. 6, US$1 was equivalent to 66.74 Indian rupees.
