Grape King Bio profit misses consensus by 35.3% in Q1

Grape King Bio Ltd. said its first-quarter normalized net income came to NT$1.16 per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of NT$1.80 per share.

EPS rose 21.6% year over year from 96 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was NT$152.6 million, an increase of 22.3% from NT$124.8 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 9.3% from 9.0% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 19.1% year over year to NT$1.65 billion from NT$1.39 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 19.5% from the prior-year period to NT$1.25 billion from NT$1.05 billion.

Reported net income rose 22.1% on an annual basis to NT$237.2 million, or NT$1.81 per share, from NT$194.2 million, or NT$1.49 per share.
