Chevron Australia taps Aker Solutions to design subsea compression station

Norway-based Aker Solutions announced March 12 the Jansz-Io field consortium, led by Chevron Australia Pty Ltd, has awarded the company a contract for the front-end engineering and design, or FEED, of a subsea compression station to boost gas recovery in the field.

The FEED covers an unmanned power and control floater, including overall field system engineering services.

The field control station will pass onshore power to the subsea compression station.

The Jansz-Io field, which is part of the Gorgon project, is the first to use subsea compression technology outside of Norway.
