Nestlé Australia recalls Uncle Tobys snacks over metal fragments

Nestlé SA is recalling some batches of Uncle Tobys Foods Pty. Ltd.-branded snacks over the potential presence of small metal fragments, according to a Jan. 10 notice from the Food Standards Australia New Zealand.

The recall covers certain 94-gram packages of Uncle Tobys Roll-Ups that were sold at Coles Group Ltd., Woolworths Group Ltd., IGA and independent retailers and online retailers.

The recall was prompted after Nestlé was informed by an ingredient supplier that equipment failure in their facility has resulted in the possible presence of small metal fragments in an ingredient supplied to Nestlé.

These contaminants may cause illness or injury if consumed, according to Food Standards.

Consumers are advised to return the product to their place of purchase for a full cash refund.
